Help the library, share a drink

From 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. July 16, you can help build a new library and share a few drinks at the Inn at Montrose. Half of all the tips collected during that time will go to the building fund. Call 278-1124 for reservations.

Gas prices in Montrose

Just got back from the big borough. Regular gas was 2.60 at the Pump and Pantry. Information may be useful if you are considering filling up in Montrose or near Binghamton.

You're right: It is wet outside

Maybe we should add "ark building" to the list of chores to be done on July 11. A quick look at the National Weather Service records for Binghamton and Scranton shows how wet it has been.
At the Binghamton airport, 6.16 inches of precipitation has fallen since June 1, about 32 percent more than normal. At the Scranton airport, 5.76 inches has fallen, about 18 percent higher than normal.
The service says we still have slightly less precip than normal, something I find hard to believe.

Notes from the association meeting on June 28

Judy sends along these notes from the June 28 meeting.
"There will be a work session on the dam on Saturday, July 11, at 11:00 am. If able to help, bring chain saws, gloves , weedwackers or just your brute strength. $25 dues need to be paid by the end of August to keep voting rights. Our next meeting will be Aug. 30, at 11:00 am at Warrens house on East side. You can mail dues to me, if you cannot attend. We will be voting on the final draft of the by-laws, and also deciding if necessary to raise dues. I will be getting you all a copy of the by-laws before hand to look at. Please send any new addresses or phone numbers to me so that list can be updated as well. thanks "
